YOU are a leader of people! You might be a project or program manager, a technical manager or a resource manager. No matter what your title is EVERYDAY you move people to meet challenging goals and difficult deadlines.

Of course this might lead to the occasional conflict or two (or three….)

You don’t always love workplace conflict but you know it is a necessary part of your continued growth.

Consider this…

Look, you ARE going to experience conflict at work. It is how you deal with it that shapes who you are as a professional and as a person. How you manage conflict is a direct reflection of who you are and is directly related to the success that you and your team experience. Your team needs to see YOU RESOLVE CONFLICT.

Imagine this…

Your team is in turmoil and they turn to you for guidance. You know exactly how to help them because you already know who you want to be and how you want to behave as you navigate conflict.

Easy right? Not always.

Here’s something to think about...

What happens if you have not prepared yourself and you don’t find a way to deal with conflict?

It won’t go away by itself and YOU are the right person to bring peace to your team. A peaceful team is a productive team.

Oh, and if you think peace is just for hippies – think again! Peace and productivity can and should go hand-in-hand.

A Path to Peace...

When you reconcile that professionalism does involve humanity, you will have peace at work. When YOU decide to take a proactive role in the conflict around you, you will have peace at work.

Yes, peace at work.

This is not about bringing incense or chanting to the office; it is about acknowledging that the time and effort you spend at work impacts every aspect of your life, so you MUST MAKE IT COUNT!

It is about allowing yourself to handle conflict and emerging calm, cool and collected. In other words, being at peace.

Conflict Resolution Begins with YOU...

Wouldn’t it be amazing if you could control every person and situation so that you never had to face conflict?

Well, you can’t. And you really don’t want to, because you will miss out on productive conflict and you will miss your opportunity to grow forward.

You can learn to manage yourself and you can learn to treat others with respect and compassion – even when they do not return the favor.

You know what...this is not about other people and how they behave it is about you.
